ITC's internal project

Our commitment to the environment and our customers

At ITC, we continue to develop new and useful internal projects that motivate and guarantee the constant quality and knowledge of our products.

Empathizing and putting ourselves in the customer’s shoes is an essential exercise to offer a quality service. At ITC, as a close-knit company, we have participated in a new proposal: the creation of a vertical orchard to test our own products and learn first-hand about the user experience of metering pumps.

What is a vertical garden?

A vertical garden is a horticultural system that uses vertical surfaces for cultivation. In this way it is possible to save and make the most of the space available.

In our vertical garden at our facilities, we use fertigation techniques through our metering pumps to precisely deliver nutrients and water to the plants to optimise growth.

The vertical garden is an ideal system for urban environments with limited space and is a fundamental tool for sustainable food production.

The ITC Vertical Garden consists of different plants:

Beans

Phaselus vulgaris

Round red radish

Raphanus sativus

Lettuce

Lactuca sativa

Red Oak Leaf Lettuce

Lactuca sativa

French lettuce

Oregano

Origanum vulgare

What are the advantages of our vertical garden?

This sustainable initiative offers an approach to the figure of the farmer, but also the opportunity to get to know each of our products in more depth.

Through the garden, the different members of our team can use ITC metering pumps as if they were in a real installation and face some of the daily situations that most of our customers face.

The aim is to experience our products first hand and gain a direct insight into the user experience of our metering pumps.

Understanding is essential to provide quality service!

Some of the benefits of our vertical garden are:

  • Strengthening our commitment: By growing vertically, we maximise the use of space and reduce our carbon footprint, contributing to a more sustainable environment.
  • We are constantly learning: This project is an opportunity to be in constant evolution in the field of fertigation and to identify possible improvements in our equipment.
  • We guarantee our quality: By using our own fertigation pumps, we demonstrate their excellence, quality and efficiency.
  • We are ITC: Our vertical orchard is also a tool to promote our collaboration and teamwork, strengthening bonds and creating an unbeatable working environment.

ITC pumps and fertigation equipment for our orchard

The project has progressed thanks to the initiative and commitment of the various members of the team.

Currently, the ITC equipment is installed and operational. This includes

  • 3 Dosmart AC to dose the appropriate fertigation products.
  • A WC3000 controller, which collects data and applies all the products in the correct way for optimum crop growth, as well as automating irrigation.

The system currently consists of 4 irrigation sectors.

  • Horticultural sector with tomatoes and beans.
  • Vegetable sector with various crops, including up to 3 varieties of lettuce (Lactuca sativa).
  • Sector with strawberries and different types of aromatic plants.
  • Sector of ornamental plants.

This project not only demonstrates the quality of our products, but also our commitment to a greener and more sustainable future
