Medication Dosage in Poultry Farm

ITC  /   Industrial processes  /   Medication Dosage in Poultry Farm

Background

In a poultry farm with a population of approximately 200,000 birds in various stages of growth, a hypochlorous acid dosing system was implemented in the water supply line. The primary aim of this solution was to eliminate viruses and bacteria in the drinking water, ensuring optimal and safe concentration levels.

ITC solution

Design and Implementation

The ITC dosing system was responsible for adding hypochlorous acid to the birds’ drinking water at a dosing rate of 5 ppm. The water input varied between 150 and 5000 l/h depending on the animals’ consumption, and the ITC dosing system efficiently adapted to these changes, ensuring precise and homogeneous application of the biocide.

Advantages of Hypochlorous Acid

  • Low Operating Costs: Generating hypochlorous acid from water, salt, and electricity has an extremely low operational cost compared to other disinfection systems.
  • Biodegradable and Safe: It is 100% biodegradable and leaves no chlorate residues, and it is non-toxic to humans in low concentrations.
  • Reduction of Medications: It allows for cold cleaning without additional chemicals, reducing the need for medications.

Advantages of ITC Technology

  • Homogeneity in Dosing: Ensures that every drop of water contains a homogeneous part of the biocide.
  • Precision and Traceability: Precise electronic control of the dosing rate and recording of it.
  • Wide Range of Operation: Capability to dose from 1% to 100% within the pump range.
  • Compatibility and Durability: High chemical compatibility and durability of the equipment.

Conclusions

The dosing system implemented by ITC in the poultry farm has proven to be an effective and efficient solution for eliminating viruses and bacteria in the drinking water. ITC’s advanced technology has enabled precise and homogeneous dosing of hypochlorous acid, reducing operational costs and the need for additional medications. This project highlights the importance of high-quality and precise dosing equipment to ensure the health and well-being of the animals.
