The II HortiDATA Demo recently took place at the Technical School of Agricultural Engineering (ETSIA) of the Polytechnic University of Cartagena, highlighting the latest advancements in agricultural digitalisation. ITC was pleased to participate in this event, and Xavier Martínez, our Business Development Manager, delivered a presentation focused on fertigation technology.

The day was structured into two technical sessions and an open discussion entitled “How to Boost Digitalisation Development through Different Business Models in the Horticultural Sector.” Martínez shared ITC’s innovations in fertigation, offering insights into how advanced dosers and controllers can optimise irrigation systems through enhanced precision, resource management, and crop health. His presentation underlined the importance of technology in achieving sustainable agricultural practices and improving both productivity and crop quality.

In the second session, titled “Smart Irrigation: Sensors and Automation for Efficient Water Use and Crop Health,” the latest developments in smart irrigation, advanced sensor technology, and automated water resource control were discussed. These tools support precise fertigation and efficient water management, making this session particularly relevant for those focused on optimizing crop health and resource use.

Xavier Martínez, from ITC, made a noteworthy contribution as a speaker, sharing his expertise on digitalisation and fertigation. His presentation offered an updated perspective on the most innovative technological tools and their impact on agricultural productivity. His talk was well-received, particularly by the students who showed great interest in ITC’s advancements and the importance of digitalisation for the horticultural sector.

The II HortiDATA Demo 2024 was an excellent opportunity to share ideas, learn about the latest trends, and strengthen the collaborative network around agricultural digitalisation.
