ITC participated in the National Irrigation Congress organised in Santarém by MAGOS IRRIGATION SYSTEM, a leading company in the irrigation sector in Portugal. With around 200 industry professionals in attendance, many of whom were agricultural producers, the congress provided a platform to explore the latest irrigation technologies driving agricultural productivity in Portugal. These technologies are helping to optimise the use of natural resources, with a constantly evolving and robust irrigation infrastructure.
The format of the congress combined presentations from producers, major companies, and sector organisations covering various agricultural sectors including red fruits, avocados, fruit cultivation, potatoes, nuts, and olive oil production. These were complemented by contributions from the most relevant irrigation system manufacturers.
Xavier Martínez, Business Development Manager at ITC, shared the company’s innovations in fertigation as part of the session on “Future Trends in Water Pumping and Filtration for Agriculture“. He participated in a roundtable with representatives from prestigious manufacturers. His presentation focused on the importance of precision as a tool for achieving the best production, as well as the integration of digital technologies to enhance capacity and simplify management. The development of APIs for all ITC devices, including advanced dosing pumps and controllers, enables integration into complex automated systems, marking a new milestone in the fertigation sector.
The event concluded with the 2nd Magos Awards Gala, which recognised individuals and organisations for their outstanding contributions to water management in agriculture. The day also included strategic debates on sustainable water management, providing ample networking opportunities for knowledge sharing and collaboration.
